| “Great 5 star hotel” | | Susie S | 12 April, 2013 | We have just spent 3 days in the hotel. Best hotel I have ever stayed in, so far. Lobby and other premises: the interior's design is simply amazing. Room: we stayed in a double room, top floor. OK, but nothing special, I would say. I was in nicer 4 star rooms, but in Spirit, the room was bigger. (bed was too soft, the mattress of the extra bed was much more comfy) Cleanliness is very good, but I expected more from the daily "room make up". Food: HB, excellent quality, huge variety. (more seefood dinnertime would be appreciated). Desserts, maybe a bit better than the average 4 star standard, but definitely not outstanding. Due to changing weather we did not really moved out from the hotel, spent most of the time is the spa. Pools are clean and biiiiiig, especially the 25 m swimming pool (a bit too cold, but OK for swimming), jakuzzis are spacious. Installing there a laundry centrifuge was a number one idea!
The number of medical, beauty treatments are is close to thousand, I guess :) though we did not try any this time. Staff was very kind, helpful.
Unfortunatelly I had the feeling during this 3 days, that this is not the best choice for families with kids. Starting from the fact that they charge almost 40 EUR per night for children over 3, which is craaaaaazy. I think this is intentionally set, not to attract too many kids as there are mostly seniors who stay her for medical reasons, not simply for holiday. There are areas where children below 14 not allowed. (somehow understandable, as this hotel is more for old wealthy people, not for young families).
Despite of that, we did not feel discriminated (my child is disciplined indeed) and wish to return someday.

... only the ocean-view is missing! :-) We were several times in Spirit, and it is more and more excellent from time to time. I am sure that the owners are not only professionals, but they love the luxury, too. Although it's not kitsch! I suggest to stay not only at the weekends, because it is too busy. As most of the visitors arrive at Friday afternoon, you can rest perfectly on Friday morning. Yo should do that!

Excellent milieu, friendly staff, nr.1 quality!!! My personal favourite was the sauna-island, with open fireplace, and the friendliest sauna-expert, I've ever met. The pool area is a bit crowded in the weekends. The food was perfect.

Spirit experience is a total one , strating from communication with front desk , services of the spa , the great variety of food and the ambience itself
Never bothered to write a review untill met repeat clients like me who too never bothered to make a review about spirit
Everything is amazing , the managers , serving people and the relaxation that offers a feel of fulbattery charge for the body and mind
Very fact that repeat clients come is a proof of its premium quality of services and logistics at s cost that is far below what some body would get in swiss germany or austria
Over all an incredible experience

We had a great two days in Spirit! Eveything was 100%. The food was excellent. If somebody can not choose from this biiiig selection (dinner, breakfast), than that person can not be normal or at least with veeeery specific eating habits...but even for those people was a nice selection of food. Everybody spoke some foreign language and very helpfull and kind and you see smiles on faces of waiters, bartenders, cleaning ladies, sauna boy....The only thing which gave us some thoughts was the sauna building...however the selection was great and the sauna boy was spoiling us all the time with creams, scrubs etc. why the architect built the sauna in the cellar, deep basement just in dark!? The view could be excellent from the sauna to the lake...and not to take stairs first up than down with no direct possibility to cool down outside. But this is just a detail...the floors in the whole building are just beautiful handwork! I already sent out a mail to a bunch of people with recommendation...however one of the comments are right. For western people the prices are ok, because in Austria the spas are even more expensive, but for eastern people it is still quite a lot and hard to afford....But thank you very much for the pleasant stay!

the Spirit is a truely great place with very relaxing atmosphere and friendly people. The Spa area is much bigger as almost any public swimming pool I have been to and it all only for hotel guest... it is really well maintained. I love especially the visit in winter. It is not crowded and the snow adds to the scenery around. all nature. they light wood fires around the pool area to add to the atmosphere and if you go in the early evening to the pools, when most of the guest go for dinner - you have it all to your own. the breakfastroom is right towards the woods with the birds picking their breakfast from the feeders. it is a very relaxed and lovely way to start your day!

We stayed at the Spirit Hotel between Christmas and New Year. Although this is a very busy season, especially for spa hotels, we did not feel that it was overcrowded at all. We truly enjoyed our stay and will return: -Clean, spacious room with enough towels, big balcony and fridge -Many pools throughout the property, enabled us to have privacy even though there were many guests. Gorgeous and stunning pools in roman style, mosaic tiles, wonderful details. -Great water temperature, it was fun being in the hot water while it was freezing outside. They even have fire pits outside. -You can take nice walks around the lake if you feel like exercising outside. -Top notch work out facilities with state of the art treadmills, etc. -Sauna area has a great selection of saunas (Finnish, ice chamber, bio sauna, etc,), steam rooms and a cold water pool. We always went in the evening when it was not crowded at all and enjoyed the sauna area. This is a 'no bathing suit' area, however they have linen towels everywhere if you don't want to entirely naked. The only negatives: very slow elevators and food was just OK.They really need to improve the desserts!! Reminded me of cheap casino food in Texas or Oklahoma...if this means anything to you. However, they did console us with an exceptionally great selection of cheeses, so I had bread (was great as well) and cheese every day :)

This was our third time at Spirit Hotel and even though we haven't been for a couple of years, nothing has changed, it's still great. The food is excellent, buffet at breakfast and dinner. At breakfast there is a huge variety of everything you can wish for and in the evening there is lots of choice of meat, fish and vegetable dishes. The chef also grills 2 fresh cuts of meat each evening. We stayed 4 nights and none of the main courses were repeated. Of course there is also a huge selection of appetizers, salad bar, desserts and cheeses. You certainly don't go away hungry. The rooms are also spacious and very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The amazing part of this hotel is the spa and sauna facilities. It's huge with 22 pools of various sizes and temperatures. There is also a pool which is 25 metres long so you can really swim. The sauna area is set apart, 10 saunas with various temperatures and the attendent even offers you water, oils and peeling lotions. You really get pampered. So if you are feeling stressed and need a break this is the place to go. It will do you the world of good.

this is a hotel you go to if you want to be pampered and relax. the spa is just unbeliebale. Great. All year round. I have been repeateadly and even in winter it is great place as all outdoor pools are open as well. Restaurant is very good too, buffet only, but a huge variety, so is breakfast.
Just, if you want to explore a bit around, there is not that much to do and the difference between such a 5* hotel and the poor eatern european reality is huge. it seams you are sitting in an un-real palace and the world around you is shut out.

We stayed from January 10 until January 12 at the Spirit Hotel in Sarvar.
The rooms very very good but the Wellness facilities were really outstanding. From the pools to the massages and especially the Hamam, everything was absolutely first class.
Needless to say that the Hungarians are known for their very friendly service and this was absolutely true for the staff at the Spirit Hotel as well.
We can recommend this hotel to every one who wants to stay at a first class Wellness Hotel to get pampered and to relax.

We visited this hotel repeatedly because it is apparently one the best places for relaxation in Central Europe. The hotel is luxurious and very comfortable, with unique spa and wellness facilities.
We strongly prefer the Orient Room for our every stay: this room is spacious, usually located near the end of coridors, with a large balcony. The round bed is absolutely comfy! Furthermore, Orient Rooms are furnished with armchair, coffee table with one chair, side table with another chair, minibar and flat TV. The bathroom is connected directly with the anteroom but the shower bath and toilet are separated by glass doors.
The spa with numerous outdoor and indoor pools is great! The temperature of water differs among pools allowed us to choose the most pleasurable place according our personal preferences. There are also large relax areas but it was sometimes very difficult to find two free places together.
The cuisine was also perfect, for both breakfests and dinners. The waiters as well as the other staff were very helpful.
To conclude, only two small negatives we noted during our last visit in May: 1) Free wifi is not available in the rooms (this is surpising in view of the fact that the Spirit is one from most expensive spa hotels in Hungary at all), free wifi of a poor quality was in the lobby. 2) The outdoor whirlpool has markedly lower temperature if compared with the previous year.

We stayed in Spirit for a 3-nights long weekend, I travelled with my girlfriend. I am working in a 5-star hotel too, so I exactly know what I am speaking about. Truly: the Spirit is one of the best hotels I have ever been! The building is modern and easy to reach from the main road. Secured parking just on the other side of the street for a really acceptable 1000 HUF/night. Staff was extremely helpful and polite, but on a really natural and kind way, they seemed to enjoy their job, which is really important in this business. The room (Oriental type) was spacious, clean and well-furnished, I can not imagine a better one! Breakfast and dinner buffet on the highest quality, impossible to be disappointed. Spa and pool area is the main goal to visit this hotel. Beautiful environment, luxury feeling, spacious and enjoyable pools on an extremely big section (1 hectare!). Only negative comment on sauna: I love to use it, but not naked. So for me, there was no possibility to enjoy it. Last but not least, however Spirit is not a cheap hotel, you will get real value for your money. If you appreciate a personalized service, luxury atmosphere and a stay full with memorable moments, choose the Spirit! I recommend it from my heart!

We stayed for 4 nights in Spirit Hotel Thermal Spa during our summer vacation. We were a family of 3 people with a child of 3 years old. We were staying in a premium double room, which is quite big in comparison to the rooms of relevant category in other hotels. The room had own balcony with a table and chairs, as well as lying chairs. Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good, with a lot of choice. During our stay there were no repetition in dinner buffet main dishes. Prices in the restaurant and bar by the pool were quite reasonable. Prices for wellness treatments in the spa can be considered relatively high. A big choice of medical treatments is also offered in the hotel spa. The staff was very friendly, helpful.
There is a kids club by the pools area, where they can take care of your child. When we checked-in we were given a brochure with a list of children programs for several days in this club. It is a good idea to have such a club, where children can be entertained. However in this case location of the club is not good, because children who see pools will not want to stay in a room. May be hotel management could think of changing the location of the kids' club. We were very happy with this hotel and are planning to come back as soon as we get a chance.

We had the pleasure of experiencing this hotel as a 3 day beak away from the children for the first time in 2 years. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the quaint town of Sárvár (about 2.5hr from Budapest), but that is not the reason that you visit this hotel.
The hotel has a welcoming reception area - very spacious and well lit with natural lighting. An interesting water fountain in the centre area where you can also sit and rest or wait. The restaurant and spa / wellness area is located just off the main reception, so it is easy to find (unlike some hotels where the wellness section is at the back of the hotel and a long walk from the rooms).
The rooms are very spacious, with very comfortable beds, large showers and pleasant decor. If you want to spoil yourself, try a room with private spa. The restaurant has a lovely range of hot and cold offerings for breakfast and dinner. The lunch menu is also enticing and not overly expensive for a 5 star hotel.
The most enjoyable experience of this hotel though is the range of spas, swimming pools and thermal pools. We spent every spare moment switching between the different pools and areas (indoor and out), depending on the mood. Want some hot and relaxing or maybe something just warm but with more space for swimming - they have the pool. Or perhaps you just want to sit on a sun lounge and have someone serve you drinks?
This was my first time in a Hungarian Spa Hotel and was much more then enjoyable then I had expected. I'm sure I'll be back here again some day.

Nice hotel with modern decoration, a big property with mostly families including a lot of babies. Good service from arrival with immediate luggage handling, quick check in and room installation. Our room was the "oriental" category with round be, equipment OK, excepted television with remote not totally working. Size of the room average, but we do not want to spend too much time here, so it is enough. Bathroom with shower only, but perfect for us. Buffet restaurant with extensive choice, generally excellent quality which is not easy for such a size. Only the cook is limiting carefully the meat you ask to prepare, but no problem to go back and ask second choice. Service is OK but they do not like if you arrive for diner at 21h30 as it is closing at 22h00. Attraction is pools, quite OK for winter, a lttle bit small for summer with the high occupancy. For sunbeds around the pools, if you do not go and reserve one before 8h00am ... You will not find any. Terrible that guests are blocking sunbeds and finally use them 2 hours per day. But the pool staff is very useful and finds solutions.
Parking facility in front of the house, easy and safe as on permanent security eyes.
A big lake is taking place behind the hotel, pleasant with a lot of ducks ... But a lot of mosquitos end of day, and not accessible at night time as not lighted. Good modtly for the view, even though you can rent a small boat not recommanded unless you want to offer you blood to the local mosquitos community.
Generally a good experience I would rank 4 stars international, but with special good feed back for the food.

| “The Best Quality Hotel in Sarvar” |
| Ken M |
17. May, 2012 |
I have stayed here many times as my Company has a factory in the town, and therefore feel that I know it better than most. It is by far the highest standard of hotel in Sarvar and the region and their current rates reflect this, however it is excellent value compared to similar luxury hotels in major cosmopolitan cities.
The hotel decor is of a high standard with plenty of opulent 'bling' and boasts over 14 swimming pool areas. Typically the hotel is visited by couples looking for a relaxing high quality spa experience, and of those that I have met and spoken to, none have said anything other that high praise about their stay. The gymnasium is large well stocked with modern and varied equipment.
The rooms are of a high standard and the beds are the best and most comfortable that I have slept in over 30 years of travelling. Free wifi is a definate bonus, and the half board option gives you access to one of the best and most varied buffet dinners. Breakfast too is of a high standard and even the fussiest of eaters will find satisfaction.
There is regular entertainment in the lobby lounge, usually with a pianist, occasionally a jazz trio and downstairs in the Luna bar they have bowling and a pool table.
Nice touches ? The hotel offers a free drinks voucher upon arrival, and the only minor issue that I have is that the lobby bar closes around 11.30 pm.
All in all an excellent value quality hotel with all the comforts of home and a great place just to chill out and soak up the laid back atmosphere
Stayed March 2012, traveled on business

Wow, I have to say I liked the Spirit. Amazing architecture and attention to detail. I loved the Spa and the Hamam party we had there. The bar has a pool table and bowling, very nice!
The pool area is large and very tasteful. The rooms were amazing and the wow factor did tick at least 4 times during my one night stay there. There are some very nice treatments available and the staff looked very professional and selected persons in every position.

11. Sept, 2011 |
The modern hotel has probably the best spa in Hungary. The sauna world offers a great variety, the swimmingpools are very clean, the thermal water pool has indoor and outdoor options for relaxation.
Unlike some reviewers we believed the food variety was great both for breakfast and dinner. I didnt miss a la carte options at all. The restaurant staff was unbelivably helpful and kind to us. But it is true the entire staff lacks English speakers.
All the treatments we tried were of high quality, the therapists were all professionals. The only unprofessionals in the hotel were the receptionist both in the spa and behind the main desk.
But even they couldnt ruin our stay. We would definately return for another spa stay.

“Best family vacation, EVER” |

5. Sept, 2011 |
So, we went to the Spirit Hotel for the second time this year, this time for 2 nights. Our son was 3 the first time we went there and he has been talkng about it since, so we had to go back. My wife has made me swear that next time we have to stay at least 3 nights, if not four. And for those with a young family, staying at this hotel is really the perfect vacation. Amazing collection of pools, including ones where children are allowed. And just through a sliding door a blissful adult zone of pools and spas so parents can take turns... There is also a children's daycare etc. if you choose although we were happy to be doing the switcheroo... Also, the children just got into the whole spa thing and were enjoying the relaxation themselves...
The hotel has the most beautiful, cleanest, glass enclosed full length swimming pool I have seen in my life... Outdoor areas, indoor areas. Hotel is nestled in an aboretum for great walking, collecting frogs etc. Across the street is the city spa with amazing water slides, play areas with nice warm water... Horse riding next door as well. And a castle downtown (walking/biking distance) with a great restaurant next door. Nice shopping area etc..... On the serious spa side of things there is a wonderful doctor on staff who speaks excellent English to help advise on treatments and so on.... Sure the food is buffet so don't expect cordon bleu quality - but I would say it is the best, most complet buffet imaginable... The decor is quite nice and especially love the pristine glass walls onto the trees of the arboretum in the dining room. I found almost all staff very helpful - so different experience than some of the other comments. The ultimate compliment was that despite all the other great places we had booked, I could barely drag my wife into the car to move on to our next spot.... It really is that good.... |

Our stay on Spirit Hotel made our souls completely relax. If we wanted, we could find us some water to relax in, we could reserve massages, relax in the loung's huge sofas or even go work out in the gym. There simply was so many activities to choose between, and then at night, we could go eat in the restaurant and expect a wonderful service. And the food is amazing too. There is so many options, and it is so varied. Even if you are allergic to something the chefs still make you fantastic food. We are looking forward to our next stay at Spirit Hotel. - Because there will definitely be a next stay!

Our room was big, well-furnished, and comfortable. The dinner was excellent althogh the waiters are not well-trained. That's a pity that the hotel is so far from every interesting lions of Sárvár.
