The gipsyes of Nagyida
Since its foundation in 2000 ExperiDance Production has endeavored to renewal, to season the shows with new spices, besides respecting traditions they are courageous to change conventional forms. The many-year creative work is resulted in a unique clear-out world of dance, music and lights and nowadays our ensemble is recognized in our country and abroad as the travelling ambassador of Hungarian dance culture.
The mock-heroic written by the Hungarian poet János Arany is origined from a 16th century chronicle anecdote. Lord Perényi defended his Nagyida castle with gypsies against the troops of the Habsburg King, Ferdinand. Gypsies would have been victorious over the retreating troops if they had not shouted after them: You are lucky as we ran out gunpowder, otherwise…
This farcical story was adapted to stage by György Schwajda together with Sándor Román.
